Made to Feel Good. An Evolved Chapter for Another Country

When I founded Another Country in 2010, our aim was straightforward: to reinterpret archetypal, familiar furniture forms for modern living. Being ‘sustainable’ was part of our story, and it was there from the start, in how we made things and how we designed them. We set out to balance craft, industry, contemporary-yet-timeless design and sustainable materials to produce honest, functional furniture built for longevity.
As our commitment deepened, from focusing on ‘The Natural Home’ in 2018 to becoming a certified B Corp in 2024, our approach evolved. Today we are taking the next step, a promise that draws it all together: Made to Feel Good. It brings together our commitment to a healthy home as well as to a healthy planet.
We spend considerable effort evaluating what we put into our bodies and onto our skin. Yet the material composition of our homes still often escapes similar scrutiny. Conventional furnishings remain laden with fire retardants, synthetic foams, chemical glues, and composite materials, all things that we have avoided over the years.
Our natural world also requires greater care than ever, and we remain committed to low carbon, made-to-order production, sustainable sourcing, and renewable, solid materials designed to age gracefully and be repaired decades down the line.
So whether it is the quiet warmth of morning light on the texture of solid wood, knowing the hands that spent weeks crafting your dining table, or passing a cherished piece down to the next generation, our goal remains unchanged: to create furniture that makes you feel good today, tomorrow, and for good.
This is just the beginning. Over the coming months you’ll see Made to Feel Good come to life, in new pieces, new stories and a few things we’re not quite ready to share yet. Keep an eye out.
